Joshua 24:15
Inspired by Joshua’s declaration, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord,” this oath is a line in the sand. It is a call to reject the lies of feminism, egalitarianism, LGBTQ+ theology, Marxism, secularism, and every ideology that rebels against God’s Word. It is an invitation to live as God intended: strong, courageous, and obedient to His design.
The Joshua Oath is a covenant for men who refuse to bow to the lies of this age. It is a declaration of allegiance to Jesus Christ, the sovereign King over all creation, and a rejection of the cultural rebellion that has plunged our world into chaos. The Oath is not for cowards. It is not for men content with passive faith, weak theology, or retreat. It is for those ready to stand firm, take dominion, and proclaim with Joshua: “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
If you are prepared to take this step, read the Oath carefully. Pray over it. Count the cost. Then sign it, knowing that this commitment binds you to live as a man accountable to God and His people.
This is not a private faith. This is a public declaration that you will live as God has called you to live—as a man who fears God, takes responsibility, and leads with strength and conviction.
Before you sign, read the full text of The Joshua Oath. Understand the weight of this covenant. This is not a decision to make lightly.
A Declaration of War
In an age of cowardice, compromise, and confusion, we stand as men of God, redeemed by Christ, entrusted with the task of leadership, and called to exercise dominion in every sphere of life. We live in a time when the truth of God’s Word is despised, biblical masculinity is attacked, and the created order is rebelled against with ferocity. We reject passivity, silence, and retreat, and instead take up the mantle of bold obedience, declaring with Joshua: As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
We covenant this day to proclaim the Lordship of Christ over every square inch of creation, to live faithfully under His Word, and to take dominion for His glory. This is our war cry, our declaration, our oath.
THE OATH
WE AFFIRM that Jesus Christ is the sovereign King over all creation. His Lordship is total, extending to every aspect of life—our hearts, our homes, our churches, our vocations, our politics, and our culture. His reign is not hypothetical or postponed; it is real, present, and advancing (Psalm 2:8-12, Colossians 1:16-18, Matthew 28:18). As men under His authority, we are called to live every moment for His glory and to bring all things into submission to His Word (2 Corinthians 10:5).
WE DENY that there is any sphere of life neutral or exempt from Christ’s dominion. We reject the secular lie that faith can be separated from public life, or that Christians can remain silent in the face of rebellion. We deny the modern myth of personal autonomy and affirm that every knee will bow, either in willing submission or ultimate judgment (Philippians 2:10-11).
WE AFFIRM the doctrine of federal headship: that as Adam’s sin brought death to all men, so Christ’s perfect obedience and sacrifice bring life to all who are united to Him by faith (Romans 5:12-21). This truth extends to our roles as heads of households and leaders in our communities; as men, we bear the responsibility to lead in righteousness and to take responsibility for the spiritual well-being of those under our care.
WE DENY the modern abdication of male responsibility, whether in the home, the church, or society at large. We reject the feminist narrative that portrays male leadership as oppressive and instead affirm it as God’s design for human flourishing.
WE AFFIRM that God’s moral law, summarized in the Ten Commandments, is eternally binding and universally applicable. It is the standard of justice, the foundation of human dignity, and the measure by which nations rise or fall (Deuteronomy 4:5-8, Psalm 19:7-11, Matthew 5:17-19). Obedience to God’s law is not a burden, but the path to freedom, flourishing, and dominion under His covenant.
WE DENY that human morality can be divorced from God’s law. We reject moral relativism, secular humanism, and any ideology—including Marxism—that exalts human authority above divine revelation. We deny that justice, equity, or righteousness can be defined apart from Scripture.
WE AFFIRM that the family is the first institution ordained by God and the primary sphere of dominion. As husbands and fathers, men are called to lead their households in worship, disciple their children in the fear of the Lord, and love their wives as Christ loves the church (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Ephesians 5:25-33, 6:4).
WE DENY that the family can be redefined according to cultural whims or personal preferences. We reject the lie that marriage is anything other than a covenantal union between one man and one woman. We also deny the notion that fathers are optional or interchangeable, affirming instead that male leadership is essential to the health of the home.
WE AFFIRM that theological depth is the root of our faith and the catalyst for our works. Sound doctrine produces sound men. The gospel is not a set of shallow platitudes, but the power of God for salvation (Romans 1:16). Biblical truth is sufficient for every question of life, from the nature of salvation to the ordering of society.
WE DENY that emotionalism, pragmatism, or theological laziness are sufficient for a vibrant faith. We reject the trend of avoiding serious doctrinal study in favor of feelings, entertainment, or shallow spirituality. We also deny that the church’s mission is merely individual salvation; it includes discipling the nations and transforming culture through the gospel.
WE AFFIRM that cultural engagement is not optional for faithful Christian men. We are called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16), confronting lies, defending truth, and advancing Christ’s kingdom in every sphere of life. This includes opposing LGBTQ+ theology, gender ideology, radical feminism, and Marxism with boldness and grace.
WE DENY that cultural retreat, compromise, or apathy are acceptable responses to the challenges of our day. We reject the notion that the gospel has no place in politics, art, education, or economics. We also deny that cultural decay is inevitable or irreversible; the gospel is sufficient to transform individuals and nations.
WE AFFIRM that spiritual warfare is real, and the battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). As men of God, we are called to put on the full armor of God, stand firm in the truth, and fight with the weapons of faith, prayer, and the Word.
WE DENY that complacency, fear, or neutrality are acceptable in this battle. We reject the idea that spiritual warfare is limited to personal struggles and affirm that it includes the public proclamation of truth and the confrontation of evil systems.
WE AFFIRM that God created men and women with equal worth and dignity as image-bearers of God (Genesis 1:27). However, men and women are distinct in their roles, designed by God to complement one another within the home, the church, and society (1 Corinthians 11:3, Ephesians 5:22-33). The calling of men to lead and women to nurture reflects God’s good and perfect design for human flourishing. Biblical femininity is not weakness but strength expressed through submission to God’s order and service to others in humility and grace.
WE DENY that feminism, in any of its waves or forms, is compatible with Scripture. Feminism exalts autonomy over submission, selfish ambition over service, and rebellion over obedience. It seeks to erase God-ordained distinctions between men and women, leading to broken homes, weak churches, and a disordered society. Feminism fosters contempt for biblical masculinity, diminishing the role of men while encouraging women to abandon their God-given calling. We reject the notion that feminism brings liberation; rather, it enslaves individuals and cultures to rebellion and chaos.
WE AFFIRM that God created humanity as male and female (Genesis 1:27), and this distinction is both biological and immutable. Marriage is a sacred covenant ordained by God between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Any sexual activity outside this covenant, whether heterosexual or homosexual, is sin and rebellion against God’s holy standard (Leviticus 18:22, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Romans 1:26-27). True freedom and flourishing are found only in submission to God’s design, and we call all sinners to repentance and faith in Christ.
WE DENY that LGBTQ+ ideology and transgenderism are legitimate expressions of identity or love. These movements reject God’s authority as Creator and distort the beauty of His design, fostering confusion, brokenness, and despair. We reject the notion that affirming these lifestyles is loving; true love speaks truth and points to Christ as the only hope for healing and salvation. LGBTQ+ theology is a distortion of Scripture and a direct assault on God’s moral law. We also deny that gender can be redefined or that one’s feelings override God’s design.
WE AFFIRM that God has ordained men to serve as the spiritual heads of their households (Ephesians 5:23-25) and as leaders in the church (1 Timothy 2:12-14). Male headship is a reflection of Christ’s headship over the church, and it is a calling of sacrificial love and responsibility. Women are called to embrace their God-given role as helpers and nurturers, contributing to the life of the church and family in ways that honor God’s design (Titus 2:3-5).
WE DENY that egalitarianism—the belief that men and women are interchangeable in function and authority—is consistent with biblical teaching. Egalitarianism is rooted in rebellion against God’s order, eroding male responsibility and distorting the beauty of female submission. It undermines the authority of Scripture, weakens the church, and contributes to the disintegration of families and societies. We reject the idea that leadership is a matter of competence or preference rather than divine calling. Egalitarianism is not progress but rebellion dressed in sophistication.
WE AFFIRM that all power, authority, and provision ultimately belong to God (Psalm 24:1, Colossians 1:16-17). Private property, hard work, and personal stewardship are affirmed throughout Scripture as part of God’s created order (Genesis 1:28, Proverbs 31:16, 2 Thessalonians 3:10). Biblical justice is rooted in impartiality, equity, and the application of God’s law, not in human systems of redistribution or social engineering.
WE DENY that Marxism, socialism, or any form of collectivism is compatible with biblical principles. Marxism denies God as the ultimate provider and ruler, replacing Him with the state. It incites envy, covetousness, and rebellion, destroying economies, communities, and souls. Marxism’s demand for equality of outcome undermines personal responsibility and rejects the biblical truth that God sovereignly distributes gifts and blessings. Marxism is a counterfeit gospel, offering false salvation through human revolution rather than redemption in Christ.
WE AFFIRM that Christ’s Lordship extends over all spheres of life—personal, familial, ecclesiastical, and civil. Every institution is accountable to God and must submit to His law (Colossians 1:18, Romans 13:1-7). A truly just and flourishing society is one that acknowledges the supremacy of God’s Word and applies His truth in every area of life. Faith is not a private matter but the foundation for all human thought and action.
WE DENY that secularism—the belief that life and society can function apart from God—is neutral or sustainable. Secularism denies the authority of Scripture, exalts human autonomy, and fosters moral relativism. It has led to the moral decay of cultures, the disintegration of families, and the idolization of the state. We reject the myth that religion should remain in the private sphere, affirming instead that Christ’s truth must shape every aspect of public and private life.
WE AFFIRM that God’s Word is the ultimate standard for truth, morality, and justice (Psalm 119:160, John 17:17). Cultures flourish when they conform to God’s design and collapse when they rebel against it. While cultural diversity reflects God’s creativity, no culture is immune to the corrupting influence of sin. The gospel calls all nations and cultures to repentance and obedience to Christ (Matthew 28:19, Acts 17:30).
WE DENY that cultural relativism—the idea that no moral or spiritual truth is universally binding—is consistent with Scripture. Relativism denies absolute truth, fostering chaos, injustice, and idolatry. We reject the idea that cultures are morally or spiritually neutral; all cultures are accountable to God’s law. Relativism is not progress but the collapse of reason and righteousness.
WE AFFIRM that humanity was created to live in covenantal relationship with God and one another (Genesis 2:18, Matthew 22:37-40). True freedom is found not in autonomy but in joyful submission to God’s authority and His law (Psalm 119:45, John 8:32). Man’s purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever, and our identity is ultimately defined by Christ, not self.
WE DENY that individual autonomy—the belief that man is self-sufficient and self-defined—leads to freedom or flourishing. Autonomy is the root of sin, beginning in the Garden when Adam and Eve sought to define good and evil for themselves (Genesis 3:5). Modern autonomy denies God’s authority, leading to rebellion in gender, sexuality, morality, and law. We reject any worldview that exalts the self above the Creator.
We stand on the edge of a cultural abyss, staring into a world that has cast off the restraints of God’s law, calling evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20). This is not a game. It is not a debate over preferences. It is war—a spiritual war that rages for the hearts of our families, the health of our churches, and the very soul of our society.
Every man will be held accountable before God for how he lived, for how he led, for what he did—or failed to do—in the face of this rebellion (Romans 14:12). Men who sign this oath are not signing lightly. They are declaring allegiance to Christ, committing to reject the lies of this age, and pledging to live under the authority of God’s Word. This is not a temporary agreement or a symbolic gesture; it is a covenant before the Almighty God who sees and judges the hearts of men (Hebrews 4:13).
By signing this oath, you declare that your life is not your own, but Christ’s. You declare that you will take dominion in every sphere of life, beginning with your own heart and radiating outward to your family, your church, and your culture. You commit to standing firm in the truth, rejecting the seductive lies of feminism, LGBTQ+ theology, Marxism, secularism, and every other godless ideology that seeks to enslave humanity. You will take your place on the front lines, leading, protecting, and proclaiming the gospel in word and deed.
But let this be clear: those who sign this oath will be held accountable to it—not only by your brothers in Christ, but by the God who gave His Son to redeem you. To take this oath and fail to live it is to lie before the throne of God. This is a serious calling, and it demands serious men. Cowards need not apply.
The stakes could not be higher. If you fail to lead, your family will flounder. If you fail to stand, your church will falter. If you fail to fight, your culture will descend further into darkness. This is the function of a man: to stand in the breach, to bear the weight of responsibility, and to lead with strength and conviction. Anything less is a dereliction of your duty before God.
So choose this day whom you will serve. Will you follow the spirit of this age into compromise, silence, and retreat? Or will you take your stand with Joshua, boldly proclaiming:
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
If you are prepared to take this oath, prepare also to take up the cross that comes with it. You will face opposition. You will be hated by the world. But you will stand unashamed before the throne of Christ, knowing you fought the good fight, kept the faith, and lived as the man God called you to be (2 Timothy 4:7).
Sign the oath. Live the oath. Lead as God commands. The time is now. Let the cowardly and faint-hearted step aside, for this is the work of men who fear God more than they fear the world.
Will you stand?
